The Chesapeake Arboretum Board is a 7-member board that acts in an advisory capacity to the Chesapeake City Council and Director of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, regarding the operation, maintenance and improvement of the Chesapeake Arboretum including, but not limited to, educational programs, special projects and research. It assists in the promotion of the Arboretum and events occurring at the Arboretum. It embodies and encourages educational, conservation and cultural opportunities for the benefits of the visiting public. Current programs at the Arboretum include educational and instructional youth classes, summer camps, Chesapeake Master Gardener-led programs, events, and other activities.
