- Plan meaningful exercises and test capabilities
- Regional Hazmat Drill
- Plan events early
- Include a mass casualty component
- Include a criminal component
- Incorporate MMRS
- Test Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
- Test partnership with military and emergency operation centers
- Test the community emergency response team (CERT)
- Conduct CERT exercises on a regular basis
- Establish leadership and refresher training
- Enforce timely exercise feedback
- Establish deadlines for reporting results
- Ensure emergency preparedness information is user-friendly and available
- Improve SARA Title III data
- Provide option of automated submission of Tier II information
- Install system to ensure timeliness and accuracy of data updates
- Continue to develop a GIS layer
- Update/scan current information technology
- Encourage regional emergency preparedness cooperation
