The next election is Tuesday, November 5. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make your voice heard.
In preparation for the day, you may want to visit www.CityofCheaspeake.net/Vote. There you’ll be able to find your polling location. Even if you’re a regular voter, it’s a good idea to make sure your location hasn’t changed. You can also view your ballot ahead of time so you know exactly who is running for which positions.
On Election Day, you can vote any time between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. but know that the busiest hours are first thing, midday, and the evening. Don’t forget to bring with you a valid photo ID which includes things like driver’s license, passport, employee/student photo IDs, and other options.
If you’re not able to make it to the polls on Election Day, you might be eligible to vote absentee. Eligible reasons to vote absentee include being out of town for school, business, or vacation, being confined due to an illness, and lots of other options. Just be mindful of the deadlines to apply which are October 29 if applying by mail and November 2 if applying in person.
