The City of Chesapeake announces a 30-day public comment period to receive citizen comments on the draft PY 48 Annual Action Plan (AAP). Chesapeake receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) entitlement funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) annually. As a recipient of these funds, the City is required to prepare and submit an AAP that describes community needs, priorities and resources allocated for housing and community development activities convened during PY 48 which begins July 1, 2022 and ends June 30, 2023.

The draft AAP may be viewed from April 18, 2022 through May 18, 2022 electronically on this webpage, at all City of Chesapeake branch libraries, and the City of Chesapeake Planning Department (City Hall Building, 2nd Floor, 306 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322). Written comments on the draft AAP may be mailed to Mrs. Oge Nwandu-Vincent, Community Development Planning Administrator, Planning Department (City Hall-2nd Floor), 306 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322 or emailed to onwandu@cityofchesapeake.net. Comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2022. For more information about the draft AAP, Mrs. Nwandu-Vincent may be reached by telephone at 757-382-6176, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
