The City has seen an influx of phishing emails lately that claim to be sending you a Voicemail Message.
Currently, the City does not send voicemail messages via email. If it comes in as an attachment, in most cases, the City’s new Office 365 scanning engine is detecting the malware, and you may receive an email with an attachment named “Malware Alert Text.txt.” This tells you that it blocked a malicious attachment. The scanning engine at Microsoft is doing its job. Many of them come in as links inside the email though. Be very careful with these emails and in most cases you should delete them. If you are unsure, you can forward the email to the Help Desk.

Thanks for being vigilant when it comes to email and Happy New Year!
