Are you looking for career opportunities after graduation and/or military service? Do you want to enhance your skills and qualifications in a friendly environment through hands-on experience? If so, the City of Chesapeake might have the opportunity you are looking for!
Internship opportunities bridge the gap between the educational and professional worlds, making it easier to transition from academic and military life into a career. Being an intern can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Internship candidates can build a valuable network of colleagues and professional references that can help with planning for a successful career. Background Checks for Interns
- In order to ensure the safety of our citizens and employees, long-term internship positions (more than 30 days) require background checks in accordance with the Criminal History Policy – See Administrative Regulation 2.52
All interns over the age of 18 will be subject to fingerprinting for a national criminal history record check.
Interns working directly with juveniles, disabled, or elderly individuals will be required to complete a Child Protective Service record check.
