Citizen Advisory Committee to the CLBA
The Citizen Advisory Committee to the Chesapeake Land Bank Authority (CLBA) shall derive its authority from and be administered by the City Council. The Citizen Advisory Committee shall consist of nine members appointed by the City Council. Each of the members shall represent one different planning area of the City, as shown on the map entitled “Planning Areas City of Chesapeake” on file with the Planning Department – Camelot, Deep Creek, Great Bridge, Greenbrier, Indian River, Rivercrest, Southern Chesapeake, South Norfolk and Western Branch. Committee members shall be residents of the planning area that they represent.
The Citizen Advisory Committee shall be responsible for soliciting and providing citizen perspectives on any matter before the authority to its board of directors and, if requested, to the City Council; encouraging any additions, deletions, or changes in laws, policies and procedures that will better promote the purposes of the authority; collaborating with public and private entities to identify potential properties in the City for acquisition by the authority; providing a written report of the committee’s activities and recommendations for inclusion in the authority’s annual report to the City Council; and any other responsibilities assigned by City Council.
