Turn this application in to the Department of Development and Permits, Office of Zoning Administration, located on the 2nd floor of City Hall.

Where and how can I file for a Zoning Appeal?: If you feel that you cannot meet the development standards for the zoning district your property is located in and you have a hardship, you may fill out the application attached to this information sheet (PDF). Turn this application in to the Department of Development and Permits, Office of Zoning Administration, located on the 2nd floor of City Hall.

2. How do I apply for a variance or an appeal?: Variance and appeal applications (PDF) use the same form and can be downloaded in PDF format. Instructions, filing fees and general information are included in the form. If you have any questions, please call the Board of Zoning Appeals Secretary at 757-382-6466 or 757-382-8454.

3. How much does it cost to file a BZA application?: The administrative cost to file a BZA application and required advertising is $300.00, effective July 1, 2022.
