Chesapeake Alert is a customizable alert system that sends important local messaging to your phone and email, from the City of Chesapeake, during emergencies or significant events. You can choose to receive alerts that may affect your home, workplace, parent's home, or any location in Chesapeake.
The alert system can also be customized to send non-emergency notifications, such as updates concerning Mosquito Control’s scheduled spraying, Voter Registrar, Public Works roadwork and traffic alerts, Parks, Recreation and Tourism sports and activity updates, weather, and more. Once you select your categories of interest, the system offers a “Quiet Time” option which enables you to limit the times you receive alerts, excluding some weather emergencies such as tornado or flash flood warnings.
