Skywatch at Northwest River Park

Sunset- 11 pm:  January 16, February 6, March 6, and December 11.

Sunset - Midnight:   April 3, May 1, June 5, July 3, August 28, September 11, October 2, and November 27.

Face Masks Required

Join Back Bay Amateur Astronomers as they bring their scopes and expertise to bear on the galaxy. You're invited to join the club at their monthly SkyWatch at Northwest River Park's Equestrian Area and learn more about the night sky. Club members will be on hand to show you planets, stars, galaxies and more depending on the time of year. For those who would like some help with new telescopes, club members hold an afternoon "Telescope 101" pre-event beginning about 60 minutes before sunset (please contact the club to set up). Please do not shine flashlights or headlights in the Equestrian area. Red flashlights are fine as they don't damage our night vision. **Weather permitting but please call 757-421-7151 to verify.**

NOTE: After passing through the first gate, please park outside the large gateposts and then walk over to the telescopes. Please do not drive all the way down to the telescope area. There are signs showing where to park.
