Chesapeake's Law Enforcement Explorer Post is a co-ed group of young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 interested in pursuing a career in the field of law enforcement. Sanctioned by the Boy Scouts of America and sponsored by the Chesapeake Police Department, the group assists both the Chesapeake Crime Prevention Council (CCPC) and the Police Department with various events throughout the year. In addition to this, they also perform more than 1,000 hours of community service a year. The post meets twice a month with one meeting being dedicated to training. Explorers are expected to maintain at least a "C" average in school and be of reputable character.
