The Second Precinct is located in South Norfolk and shares a border with the neighboring cities of Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, and Norfolk. Patrol Officers in the Second Precinct are responsible for 11.8 miles of the City's 353 total square miles (3.34%). This Precinct covers 6 of the City's 25 daytime Patrol Beats.

The Commanding Officer, Captain John Landfair is a graduate of Old Dominion University where he received a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Boston University where he received a Master of Criminal Justice degree. He is also graduate of the FBI National Academy's 243rd Session. He is assisted by a lieutenant and six sergeants. The Second Precinct is focused on improving the quality of life for our citizens through positive citizen engagement, implementation of problem solving policing strategies and reduction of crime through proactive enforcement of laws.

The Third Precinct is located in the Deep Creek section of the City and covers the most land area of all the Chesapeake Police Precincts. Third Precinct Patrol Officers are responsible for 160.7 miles of the City's 353 total square miles (45.52%). This Precinct covers 5 of the City's 25 daytime Patrol Beats. The Third Precinct is committed to providing a Community Policing philosophy by focusing on the quality of life issues.

The Fourth Precinct is located in the Western Branch section of the City and borders the cities of Portsmouth and Suffolk. Patrol Officers in the Fourth Precinct are responsible for 24.7 miles of the City's 353 total square miles (7%). The Precinct covers 4 of the City's 25 daytime Patrol Beats, which includes the Chesapeake Square Mall and surrounding shopping district. The Fourth Precinct is committed to working with the citizens it serves in maintaining a safe and secure community.

The Fifth Precinct is located in the Greenbrier section of the City, which contains the largest business district in Hampton Roads, with more than 18 million square feet of commercial space and 51,000 daytime employees. Patrol Officers in the Fifth Precinct are responsible for 33.4 miles of the City's 353 total square miles (9.46%). This Precinct covers 6 of the City's 25 daytime Patrol Beats and handles 26% of the City's calls for police service. The Fifth Precinct Command is responsible for managing and supervising patrol operations as well as the Department's Police Explorer Post, Crisis Intervention Training, Organized Retail Crime Unit and Hotel/Motel Interdiction Unit.
