Community Service
Phone: 757-382-8197
This program offers at-risk youth, ages 14 to 18, the opportunity to gain environmental education and conduct community service projects in an informal atmosphere. While learning about the environment and "green" opportunities, youth are working to benefit the community by completing the community service hours required of them.
Activities are conducted Monday through Friday as well as some Saturdays. Projects range from neighborhood clean-ups, and trail maintenance to recycling projects.
Sites include Schools, Community Centers, Military Installations, Chesapeake Parks, the Chesapeake Arboretum and Federal and State Parks.
Truancy
Phone: 757-382-8196
The purpose of this program is to develop and maintain a coordinated inter-agency response to truancy. Specifically, this program provides case management to truant youth and their families in an attempt to divert offenders from detention or other out-of-home placements and ensure school attendance.
