Chesapeake Social Services
The Chesapeake Division of Social Services provides programs and services to the citizens of Chesapeake to help with economic hardships and strengthening families.
Chesapeake Thrives is a public/private partnership that establishes a "no wrong door" approach to serve Chesapeake residents. Chesapeake Thrives partners are able to quickly connect residents to needed services including health care, housing, recreation, education, employment, childcare, senior activities, and other needs at any stage of their life.
Human Services Advisory Board
The Human Services Advisory Board shall carry out all functions and duties of the advisory boards formerly known and established as the Juvenile Detention Board, the Welfare Advisory Board, the Chesapeake Committee on Aging and the Youth Committee, such boards being now consolidated and merged with one another.
In Chesapeake, the Children's Services Act (CSA) is managed by the Chesapeake Interagency Consortium (CIC). The CIC is part of the Department of Human Services. Our goal is to help families stay together, keep children safe and in their community.
Chesapeake Juvenile Services is a regional facility that services the children of the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Portsmouth and Suffolk, and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton.
