  • Building, Permits, Plan Review, and Inspections

    • Responsible for permitting, plan review, and inspection of residential and commercial buildings and structures on private property. This includes renovations, additions, accessory structures, and trades (building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical).
  • Zoning and Property Maintenance Enforcement

    • Inspections of existing land and structures for compliance with property maintenance code, city ordinance, and zoning ordinance. Also, provides Zoning Certifications. 
  • Construction: Civil Permitting, Civil Inspections, and Commercial and Subdivision Development

    • Construction Administration for the development of Commercial sites and Subdivisions and permitting for Right-of-Way, Stormwater, Land Disturbing, and Franchise Utilities.
  • Engineering Subdivision and Site Construction Plan Review

    • Responsible for all subdivision, site plan, and plat review and approval including stormwater management approval and enforcement of the Public Facilities Manual.

  • Commercial and Subdivision Development and Driveway Inspections: Call 757-382-6101 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
