About Chesapeake

In 1963, the City of South Norfolk and Norfolk County merged through consolidation to form the City of Chesapeake. However, the City's history reaches back to around 1620 with the first English settlement.

Today, Chesapeake is a unique blend of rural and urban centers, providing its citizens with excellent schools, recreational and cultural facilities, and strong municipal leadership
