Storm: January 2010 - News Release #2
The City of Chesapeake has taken the following actions in response to conditions that exist in the City as a result of the winter storm:
All City of Chesapeake government offices, Public Libraries and Community Centers will be closed on Monday, February 1.
In addition, all City of Chesapeake public activities are cancelled for Monday, February 1.
City trash collection scheduled for Monday, February 1, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 3.
The Chesapeake Police are requesting that residents avoid driving on City streets during snow and/or ice conditions if at all possible.
City offices will reopen on Tuesday, February 2. City employees are advised that the liberal leave policy will be in effect for that date (Tuesday, February 2).
City staff and emergency management officials are closely monitoring the road conditions and taking actions as necessary. Additional updates will be provided as conditions change.
