CITY MODIFIES HOURS IN OBSERVANCE OF VETERANS DAY
CHESAPEAKE –- Chesapeake City government offices, courts, public libraries, community centers and the Portlock Galleries at SoNo will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, in observance of Veterans Day.
Normal operating schedules will resume on Thursday, November 12. Library book drops will remain open throughout the period for the return of materials.
The Chesapeake Mayor’s Commission on Veterans’ Affairs will hold a wreath-laying ceremony on Wednesday, November 11. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m., at the Chesapeake Veterans’ Memorial in front of City Hall, 306 Cedar Road. The public is invited to attend.
