JORDAN BRIDGE CLOSURE
| AFFECTED AREA: | Jordan Bridge |
| DATE: | Saturday, October 6 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. |
| INFORMATION: | The Jordan Bridge, which connects Chesapeake with Portsmouth across the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, will be closed to road and water traffic for repairs. |
| DETOUR: | Signs will alert motorists to a detour route. Motorists should use either the Downtown Tunnel or the Gilmerton Bridge as an alternate route during the closure. |
| WATER TRAFFIC: | During repairs the lift span will be in the closed position which will impact waterway users. Any watercraft with a height greater than 15’ will be restricted from passing under the bridge until 1:00 p.m. At that time the bridge will operate on a two hour lift schedule until the remaining work is completed. |
