VOLUNTARY Water Conservation
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 24, 2007
October 25, 2007 - City Call for Voluntary Water Conservation (news release)
The City of Chesapeake has adopted Voluntary Water Conservation for all residents. This action was taken in response to similar actions by the City of Portsmouth, from whom Chesapeake purchases water wholesale. The Voluntary Conservation request is for all water customers including those who receive water from the Northwest River/Lake Gaston, Norfolk, or Portsmouth systems.
Well water use is NOT restricted, however the City requests that well owners post signs to indicate their use of well water.
