Public Communications Department
Meet our
Director of Public Communications
for Mayor's Youth Day 2008
Morgan Linney
My name is Morgan Linney and I was able to be in Public Communications for a day. I attend Hickory High School as a senior and was very interested in participating in Mayor’s Youth Day. I am currently senior class vice-president, involved in the SCA, a member of FBLA, as well as captain of the girls' varsity volleyball team.
Coming to Mayor’s Youth Day, I was a bit nervous and didn’t know what to expect. The presentations were great and the people were spectacular. Everyone right away made me feel welcome. I truly enjoyed being a newscaster for channel 48. It has made me very interested in this field and maybe someday want to pursue a career in it. I have learned so much in one day that I would have never learned in a day of high school. It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I would really like to thank everyone in the Public Communications for taking time out of their schedule to help. They turned Mayor's Youth Day 2008 into an experience I will never forget, and will keep with me.
