(OK, he wasn't really one of ours, but we made him an honorary

employee for the afternoon.)

So what did the Public Communications students do all day? The first stop was the WCTV-48 studio, where Jag taped 48 News. Ashely and Meredith took a tour of the studio then were off to the Police Academy for K-9 and SWAT team demonstrations. They conducted on-camera interviews with fellow students and City staff and taped their own "stand-ups" that were used as part of the newscast.

It takes real concentration to do this with a firing range in the background! Nicely done!

Good job, Meredith! It's harder than it looks!

Good dog!

After a busy morning covering Police Academy, we were off to lunch, the only time we sat down all day. After lunch, we headed down to the Jordan Bridge to learn more about Chesapeake's oldest moveable span bridge in Virginia. But just how high does it go? We got a chance to see first hand.

This is how high it looks from the ground, but we joined students and staff from Public Works for a ride to see how it looks from up there.

The Jordan Bridge is also where we met Chase VanDyke. Here he is with the group, first on the left.
