for Mayor's Youth Day 2004

James Garris

Hello, I am James A. Garris Jr., a 17 year old senior attending Oscar Smith High School.

Today I have the honors to be participant in the 2004 Mayor’s Youth Day. I believe this is an extremely well created program for seniors who are going to college to get an opportunity to get a real look at what their careers may be like. I love this program so much because I had the chance to be mentored by Chesapeake’s finest public communications department.

After high school I will attend Howard University. There, I will major in Mass Communications, and I will be in the Air Force ROTC.
