Chesapeake Retirees Encore Program
On September 1, 2006, the City of Chesapeake established the Encore Program. The program was designed for YOU—a retiree from the City of Chesapeake. It provides an opportunity for you to return to work for the organization in a part-time, by assignment, or on-call capacity.
By 2011, One-third of the City’s workforce will be eligible for retirement, taking with them a wealth of organizational knowledge. This program will help bridge the gap.
What will I do as a participant?
Encore Program participants have been used as trainers for new employees, grant writing, special projects, testing and/or developing new initiatives, and lending support for day-to-day activities.
For a complete listing of current Encore opportunities, visit the City’s employment website!
