Statistics show that 70% of kids drop out of sports activities before the age of 13. Our mission at Chesapeake Parks and Recreation is to provide a positive sports experience for children and their parents. Our program philosophy emphasizes sportsmanship, camaraderie, fun and safety.

CHECK OUT YOUR PARKS AND RECREATION ATHLETIC RULES. A copy of the City of Chesapeake Athletic Rules and Policies is available at each of the community centers. We encourage individuals who are interested, to read and become familiar with these rules and policies. Copies may not be removed from the centers. Questions? A Big Thanks To All Our Volunteers

Volunteers assist the Parks and Recreation Department in providing unique services and programs for Chesapeake residents year-round. Without our volunteers, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to continue to offer quality recreation for youth, adults and senior citizens. Volunteers are a vital part of our city. To all of our volunteers, "THANK YOU" from the Parks and Recreation Department staff and the Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
