Seniors’ activities are generally for ages 55 and BETTER, unless otherwise indicated, and they fill up quickly. Register early to be included!  Remember, you can drop off registration forms and fees at the Senior Program Office, any of the eight community centers or Parks & Recreation administrative offices at 112 Mann Drive unless otherwise noted. • Enjoy the fellowship and holiday socials, including cookouts on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day and our annual Super Bowl Party!
• Enjoy our Nintendo Wii Game System on a wide-screen.

Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. & Saturday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Enjoy checkers, billiards, pinochle, jig-saw puzzles and camaraderie!

Dominos-Open Play: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.  (June, July & August)

Tuesdays
Cribbage-Open Play: 1-3 p.m.

Wednesdays
Bridge-Open Play: 1-4 p.m. All players welcome!
Woodcarving: 9-11:30 a.m.

Special Events for "55 & Better"

Are you ready to start your “second career” of retirement with events that focus on fun and friends? If so, you should see what Chesapeake’s “55 & Better” Special Events has to offer!

The Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Department’s Senior Special Events provides leisure opportunities for the “55 & Better” population in our area. We design our events to promote socialization, physical activity, and relaxation, which in turn promote a healthy leisure lifestyle and an increased quality of life. Chesapeake Parks and Recreation “55 & Better” Special Events offers 15 + events throughout the year for our Chesapeake and Hampton Roads Seniors. In connection with many local sponsors, we are able to offer these events at a lower cost to our participants. We also utilize these events to provide information on local resources for participating seniors. We offer intergenerational events, sporting events, art, entertainment, food events and much more!
