GHOST TRAIN at Northwest River Park
The Ghost Train is a half-hour ride through the haunted woods of Northwest River Park. Beginning in the Activity Building, the scene is set by an eerie introduction to the spooky adventure which awaits you in the dark of the park. Next you are boarded onto to Northwest River Park Ghost Train (hay carts, with built in benches), and the journey begins. As you wind deeper and deeper into the woods, a storyteller spins a ghoulish tale which unfolds in unexpected ways and in various locations.
The Ghost Train makes several stops to allow travelers to witness scenes and gather more story information. Don't be surprised to find "things" on the trails that are not normally there in the daylight. The climax of the story line is when the train pulls into the South Terminal area -- the half way point. The train then begins its trip back up the trail. You'll need to watch out from here on end — watch your back, your sides and the front of the train — and hope that the train engineer can get out of there in time! "In time for what?" you say. That is for you to find out at this year's Ghost Train. If you listen very carefully, you may even hear the faint whistle of the "real" Ghost Train as you pass over the old tracks.
