CEIC Announces Winners for Chesapeake's Notable Yards Contest

Beautiful gardens in all six Chesapeake high school districts have been recognized by the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council (CEIC) as part of the Chesapeake 's Notable Yards Contest.

The 2009 winners include:

• DEEP CREEK - Jim and Roxanne Ballentine
• GRASSFIELD - Orion and Vivenne Wicker
• GREAT BRIDGE - None this year
• HICKORY- Sandy Ussery
• INDIAN RIVER - Jack and Kathryn Fogelsonger
• OSCAR SMITH - Greg and Peg Morin
• WESTERN BRANCH - Paul and Linda English

The 2008 winners include:

• DEEP CREEK - Bonnie and Michael O’Neill
• GRASSFIELD - Kris Beaudry
• GREAT BRIDGE - Douglas and Susan Palmateer
• HICKORY - Merv and Nina Troyer
• INDIAN RIVER - Steve Brennan and Karen Bridges
• OSCAR SMITH - Michael and Sally Poyner
