Red Tag Program

The Red tag program is designed to prevent the use of defective gas appliances. Virginia Natural Gas shall send a report to the Neighborhood Services Department, Neighborhood Inspections Unit indicating the location and cause of defect. The Inspector will investigate the report or complaint and notify the property owner of necessary corrections.

Once the red tag has been posted to the gas line; the gas service will be shut down until the repair is complete and inspected by the Neighborhood Inspector.
