Chesapeake Medical Reserve Corps
Become a Member!
As a member of the Chesapeake Medical Reserve Corps you will:

Receive an orientation from the Health Department regarding specific roles in the event of an emergency.

Be assigned to a facility in Chesapeake convenient to you.

Be offered free training on topics such as emergency response and preparedness, first aid, CPR, etc.
Potential roles for MRC volunteers may include the following support functions:

Dispensing the Strategic National Stockpile components should its contents be needed Chesapeake.
-
Vaccinating or dispensing medications the public at a Chesapeake Neighborhood Emergency Help Center (NEHC).
-
Medical assistance at Special Needs Shelters.
-
Hospital augmentation
-
Mental Health augmentation
-
Training CERTs (Citizen Emergency Response Teams)
-
Staffing Emergency Medical Locations of last resort
