Geo-spacial Data and Metadata Available from the City of Chesapeake's Geographic Information Systems Division

The City of Chesapeake's Geographic Information Systems Business Unit makes much of its geo-spatial data available to public, private and commercial interests. This data can be delivered on CD or downloaded from our FTP site for a fee.

A standard geo-spatial data distribution of city-wide layers is available for $40 and includes the following:

	Boroughs		Land Use Plan
	Chesapeake Bay Preservation Overlay (CBPA)		Open Water
	Corporate Line		Parcels
	Culverts		Planning Areas
	Drainage		South Norfolk Business Overlay
	Easement		Statistical Areas
	Fentress APZ		Streets
	Fentress Property Development Rights		Subdivisions
	Fentress Overlay		Topography (2’ contours and mass-points)
	Hydrology		Zoning
	Lot lines

In addition, the data distribution includes metadata and software (ESRI's ArcExplorer) that provide some basic tools for working with the layers.
