"Bowers Hill"

Fire station #10, located on Homestead Road in the rural Bowers Hill section of the City, is home to Engine 10 and Medic 10. The existing building, which was opened in 1971, has served as a combination Fire Station / Police Precinct until March of 1997. During its past it has also served as home to Battalion Chief Three. Company 10 is in the Third District and located along the Interstate 64, 664, and Route 58 corridor.

Company 10 provides fire and ems service to several residential communities as well as the Cavalier Industrial Park and the Hampton Roads Airport.

During 1998, Engine 10 responded on 933 incidents while Medic 10 responded on 863 incidents. Brush Truck 10 responded on 4 incidents.

Engine 10 is a 1995 Pierce Telesquirt. It has a 1500gpm pump with a 65ft. Boom on a Custom Arrow chassis with a fully enclosed cab. It carries a Hurst Rescue Tool as part of its specialized equipment and is manned by four personnel.

Medic 10 is a 1996 Ford Superduty Road Rescue Type I truck. It is equipped as an advanced life support unit and is manned by two paramedics.

Brush Truck 10 is a 1992 Ford F-250 4-wheel drive brush unit with pump and roll capabilities.
