Volunteer Coaches Information
Volunteer Coaches Forms and Information
Coaches may apply in advance or at registration as a head or assistant coach by completing the forms below. We need volunteers to serve as head coaches and assistant coaches for upcoming sports programs. The Parks and Recreation Department provides training for all coaches, and depends on volunteers to provide the leadership and guidance for our youth teams. Please consider registering as a coach by completing the necessary paperwork.
All volunteer coaches will be required to be fingerprinted for a national criminal history record check, screened by the Virginia State Department of Social Services Child Protective Services and be screened through the National Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry website. Those interested in coaching are encouraged to refer to the City's Criminal History Record Check Policy to learn what criminal offenses will disqualify volunteer coaches if they were ever convicted of specific crimes outlined in this policy. All paperwork must be submitted and fingerprinting must be completed before coaches can begin.
You may request a certain age group and your child will be placed on your team, if you wish. If you need more information about volunteering as a coach, please call the Athletic Office at 757-382-6411.
