Bears
Black Bears are sighted quite frequently by both Trail users and Rangers. During this past July and August, Trail users reported seeing bears almost every day. We have pictures of bears in the morning, afternoon, basically anytime; but most sightings are usually late afternoon or early evening/sunset. Bears can be seen anyplace. We have pictures of bears crossing the north parking lot and all up and down the Trail but mostly around the area of the Trail between Cornland and Glencoe Rds and the last two miles of the Trail (next to the farmer's fields). There are numerous places where bears cross. Usually the sow (mother bear) with her cub will use one or two paths and the cub will use the same paths when he gets older.
