REPORTING STORM DAMAGE: Residents and businesses should report storm damage to the City as soon as possible, for inclusion in Chesapeake’s reporting to FEMA.
These damage reports are part of the criteria for a POTENTIAL Presidential (Federal) Disaster Declaration. The process to receive such a Declaration can take 30 days or more. Reporting damage to the City will allow for assessment and documentation to begin. Damage should be reported to the City regardless if the homeowner or business has or does not have flood insurance.
