If you have more trash than your brown bin or bulk waste can handle, you can bring your items to the SPSA Transfer Station in Greenbrier (901 Hollowell Rd). They’ll take items such as fencing, construction materials, yard waste, and some small appliances. There are limitations to what and how much you can bring so be sure to check SPSA.com or give them a call at 757-420-4700 before you head over there. And don’t forget to bring proof of your Chesapeake residency.

- Mondays & Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Sundays from Noon - 4:00 p.m.
Keep in mind that this is not for household hazardous waste materials such as paint, motor oil, and pesticides. Household Hazardous Waste drop off hours are the first Wednesday and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Greenbrier SPSA Transfer Station.
