The next election is on November 5 but deadlines are coming much sooner than that. If you need to register to vote, you must do so by October 15. If you’ve moved recently you’ll need to update your registration by that date as well.
Voter registration is very easy to do. You can register online by just filling out a few basic questions on Elections.Virginia.gov. You can do it in person at the Voter Registrar’s office (411 Cedar Rd) or any Chesapeake Public Library branch. You can also get a copy of the voter registration application at any City Treasurer’s Office or online and can then mail it in.
Once you’re registered, get ready for the November election by checking out your sample ballot to see who is running. Those are available now at CityofChesapeake.net/Vote. It’s also a good idea to use the interactive voting map on that webpage to make sure your polling location hasn’t changed.
Be sure to make your voice heard this November. Get out and vote!
