The City offers a wide variety of services, many of which I write about here each week. It’s much more than just trash collection and wastewater service. One thing we don’t talk about often enough is the need for mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual disability services – all of which you can get through Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH).
CIBH cares for residents in a variety of ways. They provide individual and group therapy, anger management classes, and case management. They offer substance abuse programs throughout the year, including those focused on opioid addition, an epidemic that continues to rise even here in Chesapeake. All of their services are outpatient but they have resources to direct residents to proper treatment should a higher level be needed. They have a 24-hour emergency hotline, 548-7000, that you can call any time for crisis intervention.
To learn more about Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, visit them online or call them at 547-9334.
