The Fifth Precinct is located in the Greenbrier section of the City, which contains the largest business district in Hampton Roads, with more than 18 million square feet of commercial space and 51,000 daytime employees. Patrol Officers in the Fifth Precinct are responsible for 33.4 miles of the City's 353 total square miles (9.46%). This Precinct covers 6 of the City's 25 daytime Patrol Beats and handles 26% of the City’s calls for police service. The Fifth Precinct Command is responsible for managing and supervising patrol operations as well as the Department’s Police Explorer Post, Crisis Intervention Training, Organized Retail Crime Unit and Hotel/Motel Interdiction Unit.
