LGBTQ Community Liaison
LGBTQ Community Liaison
In March 2018, Senior Police Officer Ellen Gonzales was appointed as the Chesapeake Police Department's LGBTQ Community Liaison after the retirement of Sergeant Diana Tharp, the previous liaison.
The LGBTQ Community Liaison focuses on the public safety of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities as well as their allied partners. Also, the LGBTQ Community Liaison will build upon and strengthen the relationship between the LGBTQ community and the Chesapeake Police Department by creating a mutual trust and confidence in the police through the provision of fair and professional policing services.
Senior Police Officer Ellen Gonzales is currently assigned to the Patrol Operations Division as a Crime Prevention Officer.
