TEAM REGISTRATION PROCEDURE AND LEAGUE INFORMATION
To register by mail, complete the Adult Team Registration Form and enclose check or money order payable to the Chesapeake Treasurer for $550.00. Mail the completed form and check to:

To register in person, bring completed Adult Team Registration Form along with a check or money order payable to the Chesapeake Treasurer for $550.00. The administrative office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Team registration deadline: November 27, 2016 by 4 p.m.
Refunds must be requested in writing no later than 5 working days after the deadline date.
Team Franchise Fee: $550.00. Check or Money Order payable to: Chesapeake Treasurer.
Due to the limited number of teams that our facilities will accommodate, team registrations will be handled in the following manner:
A maximum of 18 teams will be accepted.
Teams who participated last year in the 2016 Basketball leagues will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and will have priority over new teams through the November 27, 2016 deadline.
Teams will be confirmed as registered by receiving their team entry receipt in the mail.
New teams will be confirmed after the November 27, 2016 deadline if space is available.
Team Practice Schedule:
Teams may sign up for two 1-hour practice sessions.
Practice dates and times beginning December 11, 2016 may be reserved by visiting or calling the Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism administrative office after you receive your confirming team entry receipt in the mail.
Coaches' meeting will be conducted on December 7, 2016 at 7 p.m., at the Administrative Office located at 1224
Progressive Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320. City Rules, schedules, scorebooks, and player contracts will be distributed. All coaches should attend.
Schedules and Facilities:
Season starts Thursday, January 5, 2017.
Teams will play approximately 10 games.
Leagues will play one week night game and one Sunday afternoon game.
Game start times:
Sunday (1:30 – 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.)
Thursday (6:30 – 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.)
South Norfolk, Indian River and Deep Creek Centers will be utilized.
Division Winner will receive a team plaque and individual trophies.
Division Runner-up will receive a team plaque.
Team is allowed 15 players on roster.
No more than 5 players under age 25 are allowed on roster.
Uniforms – each team will be responsible for their uniforms. Jerseys must be the same basic color and numbered on the front and back with numbers at least 4" high (no duplicate numbers). Reversible jerseys are recommended to solve any color problems with opposing teams.
There will be a post season tournament at an additional cost to those teams that qualify for the tournament. Specifics will be determined based on the number of teams in the various divisions
