Environmental Awards Program
The CEIC Environmental Awards Program is an annual activity to recognize those individuals, groups, or organizations that have been involved in outstanding recycling, beautification, litter control, and environmental projects in Chesapeake.
Nominate individual, group or organization accomplishments by completing a nomination form. Photographs, news clips, letters of endorsement, and other documentation may be submitted and are encouraged to substantiate claims made in your nomination form.

2018 Environmental Award Recipients
The 36th annual Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council (CEIC) Awards Luncheon was held March 7, 2018 at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Ten individuals and organizations were recognized for making a difference and inspiring others to be good stewards of our environment. Below is a list of the award winners:
Business Beautification Award – Towne Place at Greenbrier
Business and Industry Award – Oaklette United Methodist Church
Communications Award – AskHRgreen
Community Organization Award (Adult) – Grassfield Ruritan Club
Community Organization Award (Youth) – Western Branch Middle School Art Club
Education Award – Chesapeake Montessori School
Citizen Science Award – Wetlands Watch “Catch the King” Tide Project
Government Agency Award – Chesapeake Animal Services Unit
Outstanding Citizen Award – Ms. Lacy Kuller
Pioneer Ward – Mr. Joe Josue
Congratulations to all of the award recipients! The mission of the CEIC is to promote litter prevention, recycling and beautification by providing citizens an opportunity to get involved at the grassroots level to help keep Chesapeake clean and green.
