Amy Arnoux and Rick Russo
918 Vikingfield Terrace
The front yard of this property is nicely planned with established crape myrtle and flowering fruit trees. Well-maintained beds planted with azaleas, coneflower, baptisia, sedum, and knockout roses surround the home. A beautiful Japanese maple greets visitors at the entrance to the front walkway. Since purchasing their home in 2012, Rick and Amy have transformed their backyard from a grass lawn into a thriving garden. They have created a haven for bees, birds and butterflies as well as establishing an impressive vegetable garden, complete with tomatoes, squash, eggplant, zucchini, several varieties of peppers, and a colorful mix of four types of carrot. They also have an enviable bed of mature asparagus and along the back fence, there are blueberry bushes, a pollinator garden, and an area where they grow different varieties of beans. There is a well-established fig tree and grape arbors with concord and scuppernong grapes. Rick and Amy actively compost and provide water and food for birds. It is apparent that these homeowners enjoy gardening and are very successful in their efforts.
