Scott and Serena DeMallie
721 Greenfield Lane
The DeMallie family has worked tirelessly to develop visually pleasing landscape design and create a retreat-style backyard in the just 4 years since the Great Bridge home was constructed. The front yard is a combination of formal design with just a touch of whimsy. The lawn and planting beds are immaculately maintained, and the backyard has a wide and diverse variety of plantings including oleander, peony, hibiscus, lavender, butterfly bush, verbena and helleborus, as well as maple and weeping willow trees. Most of the plants carry additional significance, as they were gifted by family members living in other parts of Chesapeake. This beautiful flora in addition to a covered patio area decorated in a fun and whimsical mermaid theme (stemming from the Spanish translation of Serena’s name), creates a retreat-like feel. The homeowners remark that they don't travel often because their yard “is like a vacation every day!"
