Meetings will be held electronically and in accordance with Amended Ordinance adopted by Chesapeake City Council on April 28, 2020, to effectuate temporary changes in certain deadlines and to modify public meeting and public hearing practices and procedures to address continuity of operations associated with pandemic disaster. Extension of these temporary changes is in accordance with the Amended Ordinance adopted by Chesapeake City Council on September 8, 2020. The Chesapeake 9/11 Memorial is the current mission of the Chesapeake Expanded Art Committee, a subcommittee of the Public Art Committee. Visit the Chesapeake 9/11 Memorial page for more information.
The Public Art Committee shall recommend the amount of funds to be allocated to the approved site for acquisition of works of art; determine the location of artwork and suitable art forms for the site; select artwork for acquisition; advertise for and collect applications from artists, select artists for inclusion in the slide registry and maintain and annually update a slide registry of ten to twenty slides per artist.
