An informational meeting is held at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber prior to the public hearing. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the public will not be admitted to City Hall for the Planning Commission Hearing. Those wishing to address the Planning Commission can do so in one of two ways.

PUBLIC COMMENT PROCESS FOR MARCH 10 MEETING
Chesapeake Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at City Hall. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to comply with State and Federal recommendations, occupancy in the Council Chamber will be restricted to a limited number of Planning Commissioners and staff.
Those wishing to address the Planning Commission can do so in one of two ways:
Option 1 – Provide written comments via letter or email planning@cityofchesapeake.net. Written comments must include your name, address, the number and name of the agenda item being addressed, and your comments. Comments will be read into the record during the meeting and must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Mar 10, 2021.
Option 2 – Provide comments by telephone during the meeting by calling 757-520-1250 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Callers will be required to provide their name, address, and the number and name of the agenda item being addressed. Callers will be queued to address Planning Commission when their item is heard on the agenda.

The meeting will be aired live on Chesapeake Television (Cox 48, Verizon 43) and will be streamed live at www.CityOfChesapeake.net/TV. Meeting audio may be heard over WFOS-FM radio (88.7).

The Planning Commission is responsible for making recommendations to City Council on all phases of city planning, including preparation and maintenance of a Comprehensive Plan, zoning, use permits, subdivision control, and any other powers and duties provided by General Law and Council action. (VA Code 15.1-437, City Charter 12.02)
