Hospice care is about helping an individual and their family share the best days possible as they deal with a life limiting illness. The focus of hospice is to provide support and care to reduce the fears of pain, losing control, being alone and being a burden to others. Its about adding quality of life, and helping you live those days as you choose. Hospice care is provided by a visiting team that is chosen based on your needs. A registered nurse provides instructions on your care and medications, assesses symptoms, and keeps the doctor informed. A social worker will arrange for resources needed and provides support to you and your family. Hospice services are covered by Medicare and most insurance.
