4 p.m. Burn Law
With the start of the spring fire season, the 4 p.m. burn law went into effect on February 15. This means you can only conduct open air burning between 4 p.m. and midnight. The 4 p.m. burn law remains in effect until April 30. Please contact Fire Prevention at 757-382-6566 if you have any questions about open burning.

Applications Now Being Accepted for the Dr. Clarence V. Cuffee Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. Clarence V. Cuffee Endowed Scholarship Fund is utilized exclusively for scholarship assistance of full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work or the school of education at Norfolk State University and who are residents of the city of Chesapeake. Find out more about the fund and apply.
Deep Creek Park is Open
Come out and play! The park has a dog park, restrooms, ADA-accessible play area, three picnic shelters and a walking trail. Note that all athletic fields are closed to public used until as least late spring to allow the grass to become well established. It's located at 437 George Washington Highway South.
