Applicants Needed for City Boards and Commissions

CHESAPEAKE -- The Chesapeake City Council is seeking residents who may be interested in serving on various boards and commissions. Boards and commissions provide a vital service to various City departments, agencies and City Council.
Citizens wishing to serve must complete an application form. Applications are due in the City Clerk's office by March 1, 2012. City Council will appoint candidates for these vacancies during its March 27, 2012, meeting.
Applications are currently being accepted for the following vacancies:
- Chesapeake Airport Authority 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Bicycle/Trails Advisory Committee 2 appointments

(1 Organized Trail User and 1 Farm Bureau Representative)
- Chesapeake OPEB Finance Board 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Parks & Recreation Advisory Board 2 appointments
- Chesapeake Youth Committee 4 appointments
- Chesapeake Juvenile Advisory Council 2 appointments
- Local Board of Fire Prevention Code Appeals 2 appointments
Applications are currently being accepted for the following previously advertised vacancies:
- Chesapeake City Symbol Committee 4 appointments
- Chesapeake Commission for the Prevention of AIDS 1 appointment
- (1 citizen who is HIV positive)
- Groundwater Committee 1 appointment
- Natural Event Mitigation Advisory Committee 1 appointment

- Stormwater Committee 6 appointments
- Towing Advisory Board 1 appointment
- (1 citizen who has no ties to the towing/recovery industry)
