City Facilities to Close Early June 8: Due to a planned event in front of City Hall involving anticipated large crowds of pedestrians, all City facilities located at the Municipal Center on Cedar Road will close for the day at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, June 8. All other City offices and facilities, located elsewhere in the City, will remain open regular hours on Monday. Traffic in the Cedar Road area may be heavier than normal throughout the late afternoon and evening. Motorists may wish to find alternate routes to avoid the congestion.

Hurricane Season is officially here. Being prepared has never been more important. Remember limited supplies in stores and extended shipping times could mean it takes longer for you to prepare your emergency kit, which should now include hand sanitizer and face masks. Partial Reopening: The City’s partial reopening began Monday, May 18. Online services remain the safest option. If you must do business in person at a City facility, please call ahead to ensure the service is available. Call 757-382-2489 or the specific department.
When visiting a City building, you must maintain social distance and you are encouraged to wear a mask. Please do not enter the building if you have a fever or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days. The hour from 8 to 9 a.m. is reserved for those age 65 and older, and those with a serious health condition. We appreciate the public assistance in self-enforcing this restriction, for everyone’s benefit. It is still safer at home. Please do try to avoid in-person services.
