City Council Meeting: City Council will meet 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at City Hall. Due to COVID-19 concerns, occupancy in the Council Chamber will be limited. Those wishing to address Council during the meeting can do so in one of two ways.
CPL ACCESS: In response to continuing concerns over exposure to the COVID-19, access to Chesapeake Public Libraries will be limited. Library buildings will not be open for browsing or reading. Curbside service, however, will be offered for items on hold, sending a fax, and printing documents. Appointments must be made for computer access, using the fax, and requesting a notary. Operating hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access to a wide array of digital services and materials will also remain available through ChesapeakeLibrary.org. Public Utilities Assistance: If you have an overdue residential or non-residential water or wastewater bill due to economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, you may qualify for CARES ACT Funding to help cover it. To learn more and apply, visit the COVID-19 Municipal Utility Relief Program form, CityofChesapeake.net/PUCARES, or call the Chesapeake Public Utilities Department at 757-382-6352. Funds are limited and are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
